The first action will take place in Paje, Zanzibar.

Paje is located in the south east part of the island where kite surfing is the main activity during the high season. (6 month a year)

Paje is a village where people live an everyday life, trying to survive thanks to the local touristic activity.

 

- Their current business actions are simple and even primal: Catching tourists on the beach and bringing them as customers into places for a commission.

This, in accordance with them, we believe it has to stop.

All the infrastructures (bar, restaurant, touristic agencies, guesthouses, hostels) belong to foreigner’s investors. Thanks to life steppers they will have the opportunity to face western investment that push natives away from their land. Their lands has no price and belong to them.

 

- Leisure rhymes with idleness, and idleness in struggle places rhymes with emptiness. We as Life Steppers want to give them the chance to enjoy activities around a social place that will work like a refuge.

Music, Cinema, games, reading, is some activities we will give them the opportunity to enjoy.

 

- Child are most of the time waiting for their parents to come back home from work. Due to a lack of schools and distraction, they are most of the time around you smiling and enjoying your company.

We are not pretending to change the situation of the childhood in Zanzibar, but we will give them all the tools and skills a young person need to be able to become a clever grown up and choose by himself his place in his society.

 

- All products of the first needs are difficult to access.A toothbrush, soap, headphones, a bike, a cell phone, an old computer, or just some clothes ...Even poor quality, all these little useful items these days are expensive and sometimes impossible to find.

In developed countries, we use, we trash, we buy new ones..Give instead of throwing away.

There is always a man next door that will be happy to catch what you believe is now useless.
